The Great Prostitute, Part I — Voddie Baucham
Pastor Voddie tackles the first section on the great prostitute, a personification of Babylon, or the kingdoms of this world. She is beautiful, she is alluring, and she is calling us to come and partake of the pleasure she promises. But we must resist that which would take our allegiance away from Him who has redeemed us by his blood.
Revelation 17:1-6:
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

Definitely isn't America then. Sounds like many worldly places throughout history and it will exist after the USA is gone. China could have the same claim as America, for example, right now. In any case, I don't hear timeless and America being spoken together.
Vodie seems to be uncomfortable with naming Jerusalem as the Great City who was responsible for the murder of the prophets, the Messiah, and the new bride of Christ; clear references to AD70.
Europa IS a woman riding a Beast. That's who Europe is named for. And the head of the "west" is America. The great PORT CITY where the rich trade and grow richer is NYC. A city of corruption, lawlessness, sin, immorality and represents the "Big Apple" that invites everyone to "come take a bite" of — an allusion to the sin of Adam & Eve. It is obvious NYC will once again be the target of Islam, the Beast. Islamic eschatology even has "the Beast" marking all who serve Allah with a MARK on their foreheads to identify them from non-believers who will be killed…. That can not all be coincidence.
Babylon was the physical people of the old Covenant. Flesh / first Adam, the 12 tribes.
New Jerusalem made up of all nations, spiritual, not a place, a realm, the Kingdom is within you.

For example I don't see all of the chapters up to this one. If they exist, please let provide a link.
Dear Sir. I have heard you talk about how dangerous Marxism is to the country but I have not heard a lesson on the danger of Authoritarianism to the country. I have heard you lecture on critical race theory but not the rising threat of Christian nationalism. U do err brother for this book is God's judgment on 1st century wicked n corrupt old age Judaism. The whore is that corrupt Jewish leadership that rides the beast, Rome. Bad exegesis applies all of this to end of church age along with Mt 23-24, Mk 13, n Lk 21 which r all speaking to the old corrupt Jewish age. Psa 110 says all his enemies will be defeated, under his feet and the kingdom will increase and prevail, Isa 9:6-7. We see Christ prevailing n conquering all as he states in 1 Cor 15;25. Victory in Christ is certain by end of church age. Study the word let go of traditions that bind and c our great king as Victorious Babylon of Rev is corrupt Israel, also called Sodom n Egypt, Rev is a detailed judgmt n warning to the 1st century church and the Jews. May the Lord open your eyes.

Voddie Do you walk in illicit SEX? Most Christians do because of Christian Tradition that nullifies God’s New Testament lifestyle. “Illicit SEX” is an acronym for Sunday, Easter and Xmas, which also includes the eating of unclean animals like pig (e.g. bacon). Sunday, Easter and Xmas are days that Jesus and Paul never taught, let alone kept. The Church has two major problems here. One, there isn’t a single Scripture authorizing those days in the New Testament, and two, if Jesus is our Example in all matters of faith AND practice, and Jesus is the SAME TODAY as He was 2,000 years ago in Israel (Heb. 13:8; cf. Mt. 2:20-21), don’t you find it a little strange that Christians are not imitating Jesus (and Paul and Luke) in their lifestyle, or what they practiced? Jesus, Paul and Luke kept the 7th day Sabbath and the Feasts of Israel all their lives (cf. 1st Cor. 5:6-8).
When did it change, and who changed it? It certainly isn’t in the New Testament, despite a phrase like, we’re “not under the Law,” which the Church heretically misinterprets. Did Jesus do away with the Sabbath and the Feasts by “fulfilling them”? Can I now rob banks because Jesus fulfilled the commandment not to steal? Do I have to love my neighbor? Didn’t Jesus fulfill that for me also? “Fulfill” obviously does not mean “to do away with” (cf. Luke 44:24), but that is how the Church explains it. The commandments and statutes of God though, are His Way of directing our lives into holiness.
Luke wrote Acts, the only divinely inspired historical account of the Apostolic Church, in 64 AD, 34 years AFTER the Resurrection. The Church tells us that the Feasts of Israel were “done away with at the death of Jesus and that He freed us from Mosaic Law,” yet Luke writes Acts to another Gentile Christian, Theophilus (Acts 1:1) and Luke uses 6 Feasts of Israel as Time Markers to tell Theophilus WHEN an event occurred (e.g. the Feast of Unleavened Bread in Acts 20:6). If the Feasts, which are part of Mosaic Law, were not for Christians, Luke would never have used them. Either the Book of Acts is right, or the Church is right. Simply put, the Feasts of Israel in Acts prove that Mosaic Law is God’s Way to walk out faith in His Son, for both Jewish and Gentile Christian. It’s the TRADITION of the Church that nullifies God’s Word concerning Christian lifestyle. See my articles, the first three of which are only two pages long:

It was Pope Sixtus in 120 AD who changed Sabbath to Sunday, and the Feasts of Israel to Easter, and authorized the eating of unclean foods like bacon and shrimp, which is still sin in God’s eyes (cf. Mt. 4:4) and who threw out Mosaic Law as God’s Christian lifestyle.

A Time Marker is something that everyone knows, and can be used to tell someone when something happened or will happen. For instance, if I were to invite you to lunch “the day after Xmas,” I wouldn’t have to tell you, Dec. 26th because you know when Xmas is. I’ve used Xmas as a Time Marker. Luke does this 6 times with the Feasts of Israel in the 28 chapters of Acts, which breaks down to one Feast of Israel as a Time Marker every four chapters. This is incredible and cannot be “explained away” by pastors. Luke never mentions the keeping of Sunday, Easter or Xmas, and yet Luke writes Acts in 64 AD, more than 30 years after the Resurrection. The Book of Acts reveals that ALL Christians were keeping the Feasts of Israel to at least 64 AD, which means that Mosaic Law had NOT been “done away with at the Cross.” “Sunday” is mentioned only twice after the Resurrection in all the New Testament, but never once does Luke, or anyone else, say, “Sunday has replaced the Sabbath,” something we’d expect because Israel had been keeping the Sabbath for more than 14 CENTURIES. Did Sunday become “the new day of worship,” but no one spoke of it? Of course not. I’m not speaking of a day or an hour of “worship,” but a DAY of holiness and assembly. We can worship the Lord every day of the week, but His holy day of assembly is the Sabbath (“Saturday,” cf. Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 20:8-11; Mark 2:27-28; Heb. 4:9; 10:25).
Christians have been deceived by the Roman Catholic Church and her anti-Mosaic Law theology. There isn’t any Scripture in the New Testament that justifies the keeping of any of Rome’s Days and Ways (i.e. Sunday, Easter or Xmas and also the eating of unclean animals; read Law 102 above as it deals with Jesus allegedly “declaring all foods clean,” and also Peter’s Vision in Acts 10, etc.).
Neither Jesus nor any of His Apostles ever walked in, or even spoke of walking in, any of the Days and Ways of illicit SEX. Jesus is our Example in ALL matters of faith and practice (what most churches rightly have in their Statement of Faith), and Jesus is the SAME TODAY as He was yesterday (Heb. 13:8), and because Christians are part of His Body (Col. 1:18), and the Apostle John, more than 60 years AFTER the Resurrection states that we’re to WALK just like Jesus WALKED (1st John 2:6; 93 AD), shouldn’t Christians be walking out their faith in Christ the same Way He walked out His faith in His Father? (cf. Paul in 1st Cor. 4:16-17; 11:1; Eph. 5:1; Phil. 3:17) This means we should keep all the laws and rules of Moses that apply to any one of us, as there are laws for only women (e.g. Lev. 12), and laws for only the High Priest of Israel (cf. Lev. 21), etc. In other words, not all Mosaic Law applies to every Christian, and the same was true for Jesus and Paul, but the Four Pillars of Mosaic Law; the 7th day Sabbath, the Feasts of Israel, the Mosaic Dietary laws and Tithing apply to everyone. This isn’t “works righteousness,” using the Law to merit salvation along with faith in Christ. It’s God’s Christian lifestyle for us (cf. Rom. 3:20, 31; 7:12, 14, 16; Rev. 14:12). Once saved, does it matter if we sin? Paul says it does matter (cf. Rom. 6:1-3f.). So please, tell me if you can, what is Paul’s specific definition of sin, because if you can’t, then you are certainly sinning against Jesus in your ignorance and you are leading others astray by your Roman Catholic, “now” Protestant/Charismatic heretical lifestyle.
When the Reformers (i.e. Protestants) like Martin Luther and John Calvin, began their righteous protesting against Rome, they didn’t realize that illicit SEX was a heretical Catholic theological tradition that nullified God’s Word for Christian lifestyle. That’s why illicit SEX became part of Protestantism, without the least bit of scrutiny. That’s why today, your church teaches Rome’s heretical Days and Ways “as Gospel,” and that is why you walk in illicit SEX. Oh yes, they have their “Scripture” rationalizations, just like the Pharisees had. “Jesus rose on Sunday!” Yes He did!, but nowhere in the NT does it say, because of that, that Sunday has replaced the Sabbath of the Lord (cf. Mk. 2:28).
The Apostle John, in Revelation (95 AD), wrote about the Harlot, and ironically enough, all the Reformers taught that Rome was the Harlot (Rev. 17:1, 15). John said, “And I heard another Voice from Heaven saying, “Come out of Her MY people! Lest you share in Her sins and receive of Her plagues!” (Rev. 18:4) The “Her” is the Roman Catholic Church, and “MY people” are Christians who walk in Rome’s Days and Ways. Even if you’ve never set foot inside a Catholic church you are an honorary Catholic because of your Catholic lifestyle (cf. Rom. 6:13-14). You need to leave the anti-Jesus Catholic lifestyle before you “receive of Her plagues.” This Grand Deception, lasting over 1,900 years now, didn’t take God by surprise. He speaks of it in Daniel 7:25:
“He (the Pope) shall speak blasphemous words against the Most High God. He shall persecute the saints” (i.e. Christians) “of the Most High God” (Rome’s persecution and MURDER of millions of Protestant Christians is well documented; Google it or read Dave Hunt’s book, A Woman Rides the Beast), “and he (the Pope) shall intend to change” (the) “times” (i.e. the 7th day Sabbath and the Feasts of Israel), “and” (the) “Law” (of Moses). “Then the SAINTS” (Christians) “shall be GIVEN INTO HIS HAND for a time and times and half a time.” (For more on Rome and Her myriad of abominable heresies that many Christians walk in, see Alexander Hislop’s Christian classic, The Two Babylons—The Full Hislop at http://seedofabraham.net/The-Two-Babylons.pdf.

"Was, is not" and is to come"… how could Rome be "is not" at the time of writing, and neither would the broadest interpretation of this representing any wicked empire fit the bill…. this is a difficult riddle.
I love this series. Personally, my research on this topic pointed all roads lead to Rome. I believe there are eighteen requirements to meet the qualifications of the prostitute and the Vatican met them all when no other establishment on earth comes anywhere close. They dress in scarlet and are on seven hills. I ask anyone reading this to look up the Vatican gift shop. The extavagence is unbelievable. They have hundreds of items ranging from tens to thousands of dollars. The pearls, golds, silver are all pushed by them and they sell to many merchants. The Vatican sold indulgences for centuries which is disgusting. I admit that I could be wrong. No one establishment on earth meets this. UNtold numbers of the saints were murdered by them. Millions. The Babylonian system may very well be the WORLD and especially the WEST. The US would be king then. In any case, stay away from the WORLDY THINGS. I don't even watch TV anymore or movies. I try to read the bible on BIBLE GATEWAY on my laptop and they recently started allowing GOOGLE ADS and some of those ads are sexual and deviant. This is the world system we live in. I read on REDDIT that another person had a gun ad beside their bible reading. Thx Voodie. The clarity and passion keeps me coming back.
