I do agree on the rule for people taking advantage of the government funds,however I disagree that spouses or children of US citizens could be denied a green card when they try to sponsor their family for a visa,also if a human been gets sick we as the great american country should not deny health treatment to somebody for the simple fact that the person is an immigrant,I feel it is unfair to deny a green card too spouses and children of US citizens who live abroad of the US mainland and will no support this discriminating rule,Donald Trump has done a great job but will loose a lot of support from immigrants due to this rule,I am a US citizen myself feel this policy is absurd.
I'm russian and I now live in Russia. It seems to me that this new rule is welcoming into the US citizenship russian kleptokratic government officials and their children with stolen money from Russia. And it is banning russian engineers, programmers, mathematitians, who never dreamed here in Russia about $25000 per year income required as "self-sufficient" criteria.
I'm so grateful that my ancestors came to Canada and not the US. My father arrived in Canada in the 1960s, after fascists in Europe essentially confiscated all his assets. He was educated, a successful businessman who ran afoul of a corrupt regime. He arrived with nothing, his ill wife and 7 children in tow, and they needed government support for a year or two while he learned English and found work. He then contributed enormously to the economy for the next 20 years, paying his taxes, eventually investing in a new business that employed a couple dozen people. He raised his children, all of whom went on to successful careers in teaching, business, law and medicine. Clearly not the kind of immigrant that would pass muster under this new rule.
Green cards are for working in this county before becoming a citizen. We can't hand out work cards for non-workers

Doesn't this apply to immigrants coming to America?
Germany also has high minimum wage for immigrants starting fresh also don’t they have universal healthcare? Not to mention free education for higher paying jobs. I have family in Germany.
I am a legal immigrant and so is my wife. We never received government handouts, college grads, I served in Army and AF. Love this country and support Trump 100%
I immigrated to this country and I followed the rules .I donot think a country should allow immigrant take advance to get public assistant
