A Loving Challenge to the Latter-day Saint Prayer Test | Part 2 of 3
Brett Kunkle explains why appealing to personal testimony, as Mormons often do, is not a reliable test for truth. He responds to the common LDS challenge to “pray about the Book of Mormon” by showing the circular reasoning behind that claim and pointing to the Bible as a more trustworthy standard. Citing passages like James 1:5, Acts 17, and Jeremiah 17:9, Brett walks through why Christians should base their beliefs on Scripture—not subjective feelings. He offers practical, respectful ways to challenge LDS claims and encourage thoughtful dialogue rooted in biblical truth.

Listening to you and also to Greg makes me realize you know very little about mormonism.
My name is Joaquin, a faculty at the University of Kentucky.
I was just listening in the radio a program by Greg about Wars and Religion. I thought he was doing a good job explaining the facts and data that sustains that major wars are not based on religion… so I went to the website to learn more about this person. Then, I found a talk in which he answers a question from a lady who asked: "Should my kid go to a Mormon dance?"
I had great interest in hearing what he had to say, then I realized that this good man, is very ignorant about Mormons. I was really disappointed with his shortsighted view of Mormon doctrines. I am a convert to the mormon church for the last 18 years after almost becoming a Catholic Priest… but mainly after searching for truth for many years. It was the very Holy Ghost testifying in my heart of the reality of Christ the Lord as our Savior and also the testimony of Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, and yet, this gentlemen is saying that we better ignore the witness of the Holy Spirit and rely on interpretation of doctrines. I am so disappointed that you are misleading people with many false doctrines and personal opinions (instead of asking the lady to pray with all her heart if she should send her daughter to the Mormon dance… The Spirit guide those who are true seekers of truth. I am really sad to see that some people put themselves as a light to the world when they deny the very light of the world and create obstacles for others to find such light. I hope you correct your ways and search for truth that comes directly from God and not from reason alone.
Neither of you mention why is it that major surveys on Christian religions point out that the Mormon Church is the most coherent Christian church on earth… the one that walks what talk best than any other Christian religion… do you think that is a coincidence?
Blessings, brother,
Joaquin Fenollar
OMG, please make ALL christians come listen to this stuff. So many people are being f'ed up by all these "prophets"
I love what STR is doing. Thank you for such quality Christian programming. I am blessed by your ministry and want to pray right now: Father, thank You for Jesus, and thank You Jesus for dying for us while were were yet sinners. You are love! You oppose the proud and give grace to the humble. Praise to you, Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Convict, Holy Spirit, I pray and draw those that belong to You to Yourself. In Jesus name. amen. Thx again, STR! Keep it up!
Not really. As a Christian, I believe the Bible because of its historicity, its archeology and its consistency, things that are lacking in the BoM. Unless, of course dark-skinned converts to Mormonism today become lighter-skinned, I don't see much physical evidence for Mormonism.
