The word “love” is one of the sloppiest words in our language, as it primarily refers to a feeling that happens to a person. In the New Testament, “love” or “Agape” refers to a way of treating people that was defined by Jesus himself: seeking the well-being of others regardless of their response.

  5. This was a great explanation of agape love. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 expands on the definition. The wonderfully good news is that God IS love. Love is not an attribute of God, it is His essence as John expressed in his epistle.
    When we see God as love, rather than love as one of His attributes, balanced and offset by other attributes, our understanding of God, His kingdom, and the scriptures change dramatically. Very liberating.

  14. Hi, I find the truth of this commandment at the end of this video. Yes, We Must First Love God. How can you do that when people have been abused by "Dirty Love". That is anything that has been abusive… from words, physical, mental emotional to sexual abuse. It is a revelation of God's Love for that person, and Loving THEMSELVES the way God loves them before they can love their Neighbor as themselves. Please make a video of that… that is the TRUTH!!

  16. I have really been enjoying your videos. Then on this one, you had to go and say "easter Sunday". Can you please do a video on the origin of the word "easter". And why the one time it was used in the bible, it was not even referring to the day of Christ's resurrection. But it was referring to the Hebrew feast of Passover, which the word "easter" in no way translates or transliterates into the English "passover", or "pesach"/Hebrew, or "pascha"/Greek and Latin. The word "easter" was just placed there, I'm not sure when. You all are very knowledgeable. So why do you refer to the day of His resurrection as "easter" sunday?🙏🏾🙂

  19. The word of God is not the Bible the Bible even says it’s not the word of God it can’t be because the Bible was written after the beginning in the beginning was the Word. The word of God is not written. However, if agape is it in your heart and in your mind then you have the word of God in your heart, not on paper, and you have the word of God in your thoughts, not on paper.

Give your money to whoever you want to give it to just give it away because God could care less who you give it to and he could care less about these guys using it for his purpose.   22. The church teaches us how to love others.

    But the church doesn't teach us how to love ourselves.

    I was raised in the Church as a Pastors daughter.

    It is clear by the English translation that we are commanded to love God and others. But in English, “Love you neighbor ‘as’ yourself could have different meanings.”
    This could be interpreted as “Love your neighbor ‘in the same was that’ you (already) love yourself.

    But what if you do not love yourself?

    The question is… Does this verse mean we are commanded to love ourselves?

    Where in the scripture are we taught to love ourselves? Or is it just assumed that everyone loves themselves?

  26. Fantastic video! I also think "Love your neighbor as yourself" denotes that you need to learn how to properly love yourself in order to love others well. Knowing how much God loves us helps us to show ourselves love, and He said that if we love Him, we keep His commandments, which keeps us within His limits and His protection.

I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh because their enemies will press the siege so hard against them to destroy them.’"" I don't see such love

Due to God as you want others to do to you that is the Golden Rule God is everything so if I give God back his love he gave us freely for 7 years and then the womb I will see my true self you realize we're all connected and love others just like myself. No matter how stuck you feel, no matter how bad things are right now, no matter how hopeless & depressed you feel, no matter how many days you have spent wishing things were different.     Islam:
    No one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. Traditions.

    Jainism:
    In happiness and suffering, in joy and grief, we should regard all creatures as we regard our own self, and should therefore refrain from inflicting upon others such injury as would appear undesirable to us if inflicted upon ourselves. Yogashastra.

    Sikhism:
    As though deepest thyself so deem others. Then shalt thou become a partner in heaven. Kabir.

    Taoism:
    Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain: and regard your neighbor’s loss as your own loss. T’ai Shang Kan Ying P’ieu.

    Zoroastrianism:
    That nature only is good when it shall not do unto another whatever is not good for its own self. Dadistan I dinik.
