  7. Was just sent home a S.E.L. sign off sheet, and fighting with the wife over keeping my son out. Thank you for giving me more arsenal to being to the teacher. A lot of red flags, but I see this because I'm a father who cared enough to look, and who do I find. Glenn beck who I watch everyday, and Utah parents

  9. ive been trying to spread the word on this for years, our school district was one of the 3 LEI's that agreed to "test" SEL that was hell almost 5 years ago i think. Im always saying some parents fight CRT some groups SEL and some CSE but unless all go together its a waste of time. I used to have hope in fixing things but ive seen to much happen now. SEL is not a curriculum you can just get rid of. Its a implementation of competencies that are woven into every subject, every class. Once its in, there's no getting it out. After this year SEL will be 90 to 100% successfully woven into most schools common core curriculum. Parents can try and fix things but the system does not want you to change it and has decades of safeguards and self-protections built in to keep parents from ever effecting it. Some things are just too broken to fix. Ive watched this become one of them. Best chance anyone has is a mass exodus from schools and hope the system crumbles in on itself Then maybe we can start over better. get your kids out, putting them through whats going on now its not fair to them and will only get worse

  12. Y’all-this is complete bonkers! I’ve been a public school teacher for 22 years and somebody is making money off of indoctrinating y’all with this BS. They are trying to instill FEAR in you to get the people to fight amongst themselves. I strongly encourage you to sign up to become a substitute teacher in the district where you live so you can actually see, firsthand, this is nothing but politicians lobbying to scare you. Politicians want you fighting amongst yourselves about these things (that aren’t really happening), so that you don’t take notice of how they screw over most Americans with their economic policies. Y’all-please open your eyes and don’t let ANYone tell you how to think or what to think. We are constantly targets of manipulation from all sides-whether they be conservative, liberal or in-between.

  22. This is completely false. I'm a third grade teacher. For SEL I teach empathy, compassion, being a good citizen/neighbor, self-regulation (handling emotions and dealing with strong emotions before you "blow up")…seems a lot of adults today missed this education and could have used it.

  23. Social-emotional learning teaches students how to manage their emotions, how to make good decisions, how to collaborate and how to understand themselves and others better.
    It has existed under different names across the decades: character education, 21st century skills, noncognitive skills. In the adult world, they're often called soft skills.
    Social-emotional learning can be broken down into five areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.
    One of the great ironies of the backlash around teaching morality or values in American education through social-emotional learning today is that American schools have always been about teaching values and character.
    And for much of American history, that focus has been on pretty conservative values.

By the way our school corporation here in Evansville does not record the public comments that are made they only record what the school board themselves State at the meeting therefore the public has no idea what's really going on with the schools. Very sad but God is in control and he will have the last say
