God is on a mission to remove evil from His good world, along with all of its corrosive effects. However, He wants to do it in a way that does not involve removing humans. In this video on sacrifice and atonement, we trace the theme of God’s “covering” over human evil through animal sacrifices that ultimately point to Jesus and his death and resurrection.

  3. Somehow the cruel and unusual punishment of an innocent person is supposed to save me, even though I don't want to be saved. Life sucks, and then you die. I don't want to be saved. I'd rather drift into the abyss as I exit this f*cked up world.

  7. As someone who believes there is a god but I do not believe in religion thank you for explaining this. Gives more insight to why these rituals were done at that time. I still do not believe in your religion but it does clarify your belief. To me it still does not make sense but it does clarify a lot of questions I had. Thanks for sharing

  8. Why do you say this is the promise Jesus “believed” he was fulfilling? That implies you do not necessarily believe he was fulfilling this promise in Isaiah? Can you let me know what your purpose was for this sentence in your video? Thank you.

The Messiah was baptized in the Jordan River… the head of that river was coming out of the base of Mount Herman…at the base of Mount Herman was a pagan worship center called caesarea Philippi… People would come and throw living children into the water that came out of the mountain, that opening in the mountain was called the gate of hell… The gate of hell was the opening and start of the Jordan River… Christ was baptized in a river of the dead of innocent children

  14. Innocent people are dying everywhere. I dont understand anything the bible says its full of riddles and it confuses me ive begged god to help me to save me. Now after doing so real demons are attacking my mind convincing me not to believe. My prayers are useless and i just feel like i wanna die.

  16. Well done overlooking Jesus taking God’s wrath away from us. Sacrifice of atonement is phrase taken from propitiation and you cannot understand propitiation apart from the turning away of wrath. Why is the wrath turned away? Because Jesus took it on himself.

  20. This is all nonsense. You can be rude to someone and then go back and make things righ, and you both realize you both had a bad day and nobody is perfect and you shake hands. There is no need for and "eternal stain of injustice to cloud our hearts. Just shake hands and get over it.

    Jesus was a rabbi, a rabbi was a teacher. Teachinng is the best way to make people better, to help them grow and be better people. God could just forgive if he wanted to, We do it. And evern Jesus did it before he did, he littlerally forgave people with just his words. That shows how crazy the idea is that he had to die.

    Jesus was crucified so they had to have an explanation for it. The Messiah wasn't suppose to die, so it had to have meaning so they thougty. OH, he is the new lamb, he was the man despilsed like it said in the old testament

    So many mistakes. We are in God's image? How? Our hearts are rotten. Our minds are not on Gods' level. We have no powers of omniscence, omnipresence, etc. Do we look like God, what gender, what race. Does God have bodily functions like we do, is Gods body subject to injury and death. God is immortal, we are not. How are we in God's image? We can't create anything, we can't even be righteous. In every way we are differnt.

  22. The bread and wine isn’t remembrance but it’s the actual flesh and blood of Christ that is transformed during the liturgy. This is what separates many of the Christian denominations. Orthodoxy is the true apostolic faith. I hope everyone comes to this truth.

  27. Blood circulates thru the fleshly self while the spirit or energetic body is filling that container. There by doing the same without killing innocent life. The first Universal Adam was to care for all life and follow the LORDS instructions. At the time of Solomon's temple, Jeremiah the staff of Aaron, GOD'S WORD, rebuked them about this. Animals sacrifice did not atone for these peoples evil thoughts and actions. In that story they tried to condemn Jeremiah leaving him to dy in a pit in the dungeons. After NEBUCHINIZERS destruction and seize of that kingdom. Jeremiah was freed and ordered to leave that land for they were going to be exiled and many would die. Jeremiah was told to go to the Potters House,"the Elephantine ❤️ heart,". However, prior to his departure, he purchased the land from his cousin Nehemiah for future security and Redemption. 😅 This is why the OLD Testament asked for the acceptable sacrifice of a contrite spirit. Familiar with. Trials and tribulations.The suffering servant with a living repented self, in the flesh. Not sacrifice but a repented obedient heart that hears and listens.

  29. @bibleproject, I have just recently started listening to your videos. For the most part I really enjoy them, but I do have a couple of comments. The rituals that you say Yeshua (Jesus) introduced, were not actually introductions because they were not new. The Old Testament already taught about Baptism and the last supper, part of the Galilean preparation for the Passover, had been practiced for over a thousand years. Actually, Yeshua did very little, if anything, that was not already elaborated over and over again in the Tanach.

    Also, you said Jesus "believed" he was fulfilling the promise. The correct statement would be that Jesus "was" fulfilling the promise. The way you stated it leaves room for a doubt about its veracity.

You said thats the promise that Jesus believed was fulfilling instead of saying that's the promise He was fulfilling and maybe say that you know He was fulfilling it aswell, I want to hear it now that I heard something heretic come out of your mouth, probably not for the first time, right?

Things like sprinkling animal blood throughout a temple reminds me of how some christians are hypersensitized towards the occult and such, basically anything that doesn't fit the concept of divinity, so they would have to call such things heathen evil magic. – It shows how hard it can be to see through appearances and understand the underlying themes, but that vision leads to more and more connections (= love) seen in things that others would regard as alien. This is a fear test and a path to God.

    For example, many christians would consider psychedelics as something like evil witchcraft or such, but there is a christian church founded when missionaries encountered shamanic practices in the Amazon rainforest and witnessed its spiritual healing power, so now there is the Santo Daime church that declared ayahuasca their sacrament, and I can say from personal experience that it can allow very direct encounters with the divine, enlightens, sheds illusions and fear, and does other beneficial things. It is only temporary, of course, since it is assisted by the brew, but sincere seekers can derive enlightening insights from the experience, and those are lasting. – Alternative paths to such experiences are much gentler and more persistent, through prayer or other diligent transformative practices, but the results are closely related to the brief glimpses.

    I am also reminded of a scene from Star Wars, when Luke was to visit the cave and he asked Yoda what he will find there, and Yoda said: Only what you take with you. Ayahuasca is a bit like that, too. You are confronted with shadows on your soul and expected to find the right way to overcome them, and there is the risk of – at least temporarily – mistake what has been shown and go deeper into the illusions, but there are also plenty of reports of people eventually seeing how they deluded themselves.
    Ayahuasca gave me the most religious experience in my life so far, and it is impossible to convey the soul-healing wonder to those who have never experienced it themselves.

    The more things one learns, the more dots are connected and more things seen as being of the same fundamental nature. If this path was shunned, then christianity, islam and judaism would be waging global war today and quarrel over different names for the same God.

    Peace is divine, for it is a function of love, God's nature.

  33. OK. Why would God, who knows all things at all times and is in all places at all times— omnipotent— act all surprised when did the thing that he did and when Adam and Eve did thing they did? Did he not know it from the beginning? Seems like poor planning. And then he has to strike several deals with Lucifer… Especially curious is the one where He has to sacrifice Himself unto himself to appease Himself for a rule system that he Himself set up? What would he play human chess with the life of Job? Killed his whole family and his servants. But it’s totally cool because then he got to have more kids, sons… most importantly, sons. What would God get mad at David and send an angel with a flaming sword to kill everyone that had nothing to do with what he was mad at? And why be mad in the first place if he already knew that the thing was going to happen and he had all eternity to prepare for David to screw up… seems like all of eternity is plenty of time not overreact.

  40. I so appreciated seeing female disciples also at the Last Supper. (Looked like a woman in green). Seeing as how women followed Jesus everywhere it was nice to see them visually represented at the table as well.

    It’s so much easier understanding AND explaining to others, now!
    For example, I use to find the animal sacrifices in the Bible outright cruel and disturbing when I first read them. Even if I learned what if meant, I still didn’t have a very good view of it.
    But now I do, thanks to you! I understand it’s valid purpose clearly!
