When kids hit college they run into professors who tell them that the world is billions of years old and that humans got here through a process of evolution. Genesis 1 – 11 says that God created everything in 6 days about 6,000 years ago.

Why should we not teach train? What's wrong with teaching train? My dad was a trainman, and it's certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

I couldn’t agree with this man more. However, one of the problems I face when attempting to teach young Christians today how to defend their faith in objective terms is that, since it is so foreign to their church experiences and what they have absorbed from the church culture, their first reaction is to recoil from it thinking that, somehow, it’s not spiritual. That it’s “relying on your own understanding”. They do not realize that their version of “faith” is really corrupted by a soft superstition rather than genuine faith. They have been subliminally conditioned to not trust their intellect but to rely more on mystical experiences, especially in their evangelism, if they do any at all.
