Republicans don’t believe in democracy and just want to back black/ brown people and poor working class people from voting as they tend to vote in higher margins for democrats. Republicans haven’t won the popular vote in a while, that’s why they like the electoral college because each election could come down 40-70,00 votes across key battle ground states giving them more ways to win regardless of the popular vote which overwhelmingly votes in democrats. If America was an actual democracy like other countries the person who wins the most of the popular vote would always win because that’s who the majority wanted to lead the, country.
