“I Do Not Like Your Christians” (Ghandi) | Challenge Response
Ghandi is purported to have said, “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.” How can a Christian respond in order to begin a meaningful and productive conversation? Brett Kunkle offers four responses.

It's more rational than you might realize.
The whole story went something like this. Gandhi had heard of Christ from word of mouth on the streets. And decided to investigate by going to a Christian church.
He was denied entry based on his skin color and his impoverished looks. And on that note he denounced Christianity. It was not merely an emotional response.
This is not a good entry point to the gospel by any stretch of the imagination or any strech of the gospels teaching … it is a cop out to deter other people from rightly calling out the hypocricy and outright evil of some Christians.
I know pastors who are pure evil and bastardise the scriptures for greed, molest children, turn one Christian against another, fathers againt daughters, alienate granchildren from grand parents … and here you are trying to teach evil Christians how to 'overcome those objections' of Ghandi's statement. How sickening … no sunshine … you 'Christians' need to be called out for what you are and the full force of the law brought against you.
How about NOT teaching other people how to live like Christ, as most self- righteous Christians do, and rather just do it by example … role model for Christ's sake … looking for faults in Ghandi to justify your own evil actions is sickening.
This video reminds me of a spiv salesman trying to teach people how to overcome objections to sell a faulty product … this is a lot easier than taking ownership for your own behaviours and actions and being held accountable for them.
I'm sick of listening to Christians using 'the fallen man' and 'yes we are hypocrites' as an excuse for their destructive behaviours.
And the worst part is that when you call them out for their evil ways they claim 'victimhood' status 'oh Jesus warned that we would be persecuted in His name'.
Yes you will be persecuted and you will be prosecuted in a court of law BECAUSE you are NOT following the teachings of Christ and BECAUSE you refuse to take ownership for your destructive behaviours and BECAUSE some churches have a culture of greed and one of covering up their sins, instead of fostering a culture of accountability.
This whole notion of 'we are sinners' and 'it doesn't matter what crimes you commit because Jesus will forgive you' does not wash … it is the very reason why we need courts of law, because 'Christians' can't self-regulate their behaviours.
We need MORE Ghandi's to hold 'Christians' to account, because these 'Holy Spirit' filled 'Christians' certainly won't. We need governments to stop giving those spiv pastors tax breaks, funded by hard working tax payers, to run their businesses disguised as churches … the veritable "den of thieves" … the very people Jesus whipped with cords and drove out of His temple in an effort to, quote; regain "the purity of His Father's house".
So no … do not teach people how to overcome the objection of "I like Christ, but not His Christians" … treat the cause, not the symptoms … stop blaming satan, stop using the 'we are but fallen men' excuse, stop with claiming all your victimhood statements and START TAKING OWNERSHIP FOR YOUR DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOURS AND DEVIOUS CHURCH CULTURES and then you will witness a revival of the church … then you will find people attracted to Chist, because there will be more of them around.
All the rest of the world is currently witnessing is pathetic videos like this teaching people how to overcome objections as an excuse for their destructive ways.
Yeah, do any evil you want because Jesus will forgive you … this is why Christians are being persecuted and quite rightly so … this is why more and more people are quoting Ghandi's "I like this Christ, but not His Christians"
learn to spell Gandhi first. Ghandi huh
My question would be, "So what is so wonderful about Christ in the first place?"
come on people – if you use chess as a backgroud do it properly – dark square is down left!!!!

Beautiful response.
