Jehovah’s Witness: Jesus Was Only GIVEN the Authority to Forgive
Greg and Amy refute the idea that Luke 4:18–19 marks the moment Jesus received authority to forgive sins. They note that Jesus had already been performing the works described and that the passage says nothing about forgiveness. In contrast, Mark 2 and numerous other verses present Jesus as God himself, possessing inherent authority to forgive sins.

I love Jesus Christ so very much and I am a ex jw
Not even Jesus rose himself, but the God of Jews forefathers , Jehovah, why non Jews struggled to twist the declaration of the Jews apostles, @Acts, 5:28-32/Rom, 10:9, Jehovah rose Jesus from the dead and exalted him as chiefprince, Jesus hide this truth to his critics pharisees by saying, "destroy this temple ,and I rise it in three days,"
Jesus never allowed them to know the sacred secrets of God's kingdom, only his apostles,@Mat,13:10-11/Mark, 4:34,
I took the course with STR along with watching some Melissa Dougherty and James white videos.
Approached two JWs and showed them psalms 102:25-27 along with Hebrews 1:8-12 (all in the NW translation)
Then we looked at John 1:3 in the new world
Then we went to Colossians 1:15-20 in the new world and we compared it to the kingdom interlinear. Connecting it back to John 1:3 and asking if Jesus is considered one of the “all things” if he is in fact created.
Good convo – they nevertheless retreated to their watchtower commentary. But I can tell they never saw these passages before and I was happy to show them 🙂 pebble in the shoe!
Jesus is not the almighty.
The spirit of Jehovah is upon me. He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
Whose spirit is? This is spirit of Jehovah! Who anointed Jesus? Or who gave to Jesus the power and authority? This is Jehovah! Jesus does not have power and authority in himself but this is Father who gave to Jesus all of this!
