Punished for Christian Views — Stand to Reason Podcast
Greg talks about a situation where a police officer was forced to quit his job because he expressed the Christian view of marriage on Facebook, then he answers a question about whether parental love is a fair analogy to use when arguing that libertarian free will isn’t necessary for real love.
0:00 When culture silences Christian convictions
13:12 Punished for expressing the Christian view of marriage
47:10 The love we have for God isn’t the same kind of love parents have for children, so is parental love really a fair analogy to use when arguing that libertarian free will isn’t necessary for love?

That people are too sensitive about language in our culture is a red herring that distracts from the underlying employer/employee issue. Absent a signed agreement with the P.D. upon his appointment prescribing an officers public deportment, or a clear violation of the P.D.'s written employment manual, I as an atheist find myself agreeing with Koukl (except for his tirade on critical race theory and general conflation of criticism with persecution). In America, ideologies, no matter how offensive or disagreeable, cannot be abridged, and those who hold them, cannot be singled out. If not already decided on existing precedent, this could be a good Supreme Court case. For an atheist who might disagree with me: Imagine an atheist Police Officer posting their views about theism in general and Christianity specifically on a public platform, views that some might find offensive, and who then was given a choice to cease or resign? I'd have a problem with the legality inherent in that dilemma. And note: What both the P.D., the former officer and Koukl seem to fail to acknowledge is that F.B.is private corporation with its own set of what it considers to be standards of public decency. The officer, if in violation of FB's standards, could have been censured by F.B., but that's separate and apart from the legal conflict that exists between the officer and his employer.
Investigate what?!!!!!
To be fair, you can set your Facebook account up to be visible to everyone. That's why there's such an industry for "social media influencers".
Crimethink doubleplus ungood.
