What a bunch of morons
How about bashing down universities with sledgehammers to get rid of student debt. We don't need universities, we have online learning
Lindsey Burke either has no idea what she is talking about, or else she is actively stumping for the industry and conservatives who still buy into the "moral obligation" argument. Taxpayers are not going to have to pay for someone else's debt… that is total mythology spun by people who do not look deeper than the surface for answers. The idea that it is unfair to those that decided not to go to college because of how expensive it was… she is almost there but not quite…
The problem is the system. The problem is not the symptom of the system. We need to cancel the current debt to undo a massive wrong that was done. THEN we need to return to debt-free public higher ed like we used to have in this country.
EOs are being used irresponsibly by this corrupt President and his socialist cronies. If you cannot afford to go to college and pay your loans back, dont go.. You do not have a right to have taxpayers that didn't have the opportunity to go, pay for it.
There are very few socialist ideas as unfair as this one.
7th grade math and civics-By the numbers;
Federal, State and local Government, police, media, intelligence, teachers, professors, including military workers in America = 35.5 million out of a 157 million person workforce. 1 out of every 4.4 workers in America works for tax dollars.

Everybody supporting student loan forgiveness needs to listen to Dave Ramsey on student loan debt–live within your means.
Don't go to the college of your dreams, unless you or your parents are filthy rich. Come back to reality. If you went to an in-state community college, there's usually a bunch of 2-year associate's that you can get that will prepare you for some kind of decent job. As an example, in my home state, one of the community colleges offers a 2-year associate's in paralegal work. The occupational outlook hand book says that median salaries are about $24.00/hr, $50,000/year which is great. The cost of the 2-year degree would be about $8,000, which could easily be paid off with less than a year's work with that salary.
Contrast this to a 4-year degree at the state university, which is about $35,000. Getting a graduate degree would probably put you into 6 figures of debt. Compare that to maybe going out-of-state and paying the non-resident tuition, which might be 2-3x as high.
If you're dead set on going to a prestigious university like MIT or an ivy league, tuition is even higher still.
Will you have the salary to pay off your 'dream' school's student loans? If not, choose a cheaper option. Be responsible for your own finances–live within your means.
Why isn't responsible decision making a part of the discussion on this issue, even from the conservative side?
1.7 trillion in debt over the heads of 45 million, with 45 million more née defaults every year is a failed lending system.
Stop looking at the individual when it comes to cancellation and look more to the massive stimulus that it would be to the economy. If gdp has a significant increase for years to come as a result of cancellation (as studies show that it would) then why would anybody want to be against it? I think it all comes down to the moral obligation argument because people don’t realize that we have become indoctrinated as a society to accept the idea of debt for education as normal. Before Reagan slashed the CA state education budgets as gov and killed federal spending later as potus, this is hat led to tuition hikes that have followed us to this day. Student debt is a very modern problem that we can easily fix if we are willing to once again invest in higher ed again like we used to. We had a country where public college had no debt burden.
Ask yourself who student debt really serves and why you are supporting it.
Taxes will not be raised due to cancellation of fed debts. That is a myth.
I say all this as someone who has already paid off my principles-worth in my debt, but just because I paid it doesn’t mean that I want a failed system to continue burdening students unnecessarily. I want my kids and your kids to have the opportunity that our grandparents did. Especially knowing that our country will be recovering from the affects of covid for a decade or more.
It is IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL DEBT! Debt is ALWAYS PAID!! If it is not paid by the one that owes the debt, it is paid by the one who granted the debt.
Here's a radical suggestion. Instead of working to 'cancel' student loan debt, how about tremendously reducing the outrageous and unjustified cost of college? Take college education off its undeserved pedestal. The great majority are much better suited for trade schools where they learn a skill. The average skilled laborer (certified auto mechanic, certified plumber, journeyman electrician, carpenter, etc.) earns as much as the average college graduate, they enter the work force years earlier, aren't saddled with huge education debt when they do enter the work force and don't have to be concerned about their jobs being shipped overseas.
In addition to these things, colleges have abandoned the effort to educate in order to concentrate on indoctrinating. It doesn't matter how much knowledge one has, if they don't espouse the right doctrine it will be very difficult to obtain a degree.
Damm he is dumb! I want to refinance my student loan that’s paid off. Give me 50 grand for being responsible.
Government is what created this problem in the first place! Insanity.
May God have Mercy on America.
They are buying the young people. If this is so great why did they have a problem with stimulus checks?? Who needed it more? Why don't they help with with rent, jobs what a great CON game.
The situation:
Imagine wanting a car but you have to complete 2, 4, 6, 8 years of training before this car is given to you.
You complete the training and the car is delivered, but the car is missing the steering wheel, tires, and engine.
The manufacture won't take it back, other car companies can't touch it, but you still have to pay back the loan for the training.
It will take 20, 30, 40, 50+ years to pay off the loan, all the while you can't use this car to get you to the career you were promised that would get you the money to pay off the loan.
The government takes 10+ years talking about helping you and everyone else who is in the same situation but ultimately does nothing.
Closing:
The "car" is a college diploma. The "manufacture" is predatory schools.
Conclusion:
The system needs to be fixed so more people don't find themselves in the same situation.
But fixing the system still does not help those who are still stuck in this situation.
We need both the system fixed and relief, and we need it now!
Good old Chuck might want to take an economics course.
GD thieves in empty suits attempting to buy more votes. Don't fall for it!
Dumb shits want to tank this country
Question for the students who busted their ass working, sacrificing going out shopping or out with friends spending money but instead made larger payments on their student loans. And eventually paying them off much earlier than what their payment plan had scheduled. Do they get any type of refund, tax credit, etc? Asking for a friend. 🙏❤️✌️🗽🇺🇲
Really bad idea you guys brought traitor Pence on board! Unsubscribed.
Shame on you! You are also after lobbyists money.
Reducing interest rates on student loans is far and above the biggest change that would be acceptable. Anything else is simply irresponsible for politicians to even consider….very divisive
What a giant douche Schumer is, and you are who you surround yourself with. Whiny adult-children.
Would have gone to a different college if I knew the government was going to pay for it. Not right
If you want to drive down the price of tuition than get the government out of the student loan business.
Then give me 50 thousand !!!!!! It won't boost crap except taxes !!!!
What's wrong with sound in this video? Is this how it's supposed to be or are my headphones breaking? Sound in other videos seems fine, but you never know. Please don't do this crap.
How about dropping the price not fair to all that paid their loans . This is wrong on so many levels
We shouldn’t cancel it because that’s not the solution. We should have Forgiveable student loans for STEM GRADUATES since we need more. But we should not be paying for “fine art” school as we have a glut at the moment. And if someone leaves college without a degree, we shouldn’t pay for that either.
