. It is profitable to divide us. Left vs Right, Dem vs GOP, black vs white. Obviously they are leftist ideas we need to stay away from. But they are also right-wing ideas we must stay away from. We are getting tricked into thinking there is a "good Christian" political party then they sneak in distrust and prejudices as part of the package. Only align yourself with the Bible. Only identify yourself in Christ.
Understand and actively endeavor to create an awareness on the doctrine of original sin, which touches each and every person indiscriminately, rendering the claim that one race is inherently more superior than another race plainly wrong at the deepest level of our existence as creatures dependent upon God's grace alone for the eternal flourishing of our individual lives. Racism can not exist here, because merit does not exist here. The arrogance of racism is brought low when its understood 'that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God'. The humility and, paradoxically the unity, that this has the potential of creating is the single greatest force in the extermination of racism
Thank you for sharing. I am a social media manager so I do tend to talk on social media but I am open to your thoughts. I do have great conversations with people in person because I believe we are here on earth to love others and bring people closer to God. Interesting challenge of what book have you read recently from another background. My husband is in the military and we've moved around a lot. I did notice some cities had obvious racial tension and it was disturbing. Couldn't agree with you more that we can reach out and connect with people from all different backgrounds. It can be tough when there is so much criticism and negativity on social media but I fully believe love wins every time. And when we let go of our defenses and don't try and solve all the problems at once and simply give love, we work towards being part of the solution, one small step at a time. The polarization on social is thick but what if we are the voice of love and reason and more love! What if we drown out the negativity with love. I know in marketing and journalism headlines sell but what if our voice is heard too. Just like the silent protester.
The best way to start is to realize that the biological classification is "Homo Sapiens Sapiens", and not homo sapiens sapiens black, nor homo sapiens sapiens white, etc, etc. We're all one human race. Period!
There's nothing wrong with interacting with people who are different from us, but our choice of who we put into leadership and whose theological teaching we consume should be based on the strength of the person's ideas and their godliness, not on their race or ethnicity. Otherwise you're making an ad hominem argument that boils down to some variation of: "I'm not going to listen to you, because you're too white." Or too middle-class American or too whatever. The teachings of the Bible are the same no matter what your personal background is. Also, different cultures and races are not monoliths. Not all black people think the same way. Not all Hispanic people think the same way. Etc.
The authors of the New Testament weren't very diverse…they were overwhelmingly Jewish. They were also male. Evidently, God didn't consider diversity to be an important factor when deciding who would be the appropriate messengers for his words. And in the Old Testament, not only were all the priests Jewish, but they were all from the tribe of Levi. God also forbade the Israelites from intermarrying with the other (pagan) cultures around them. I'm not anti-diversity, but it seems that encouraging or enforcing increased diversity is much more of a man-made virtue and a product of Western thought than it is a Biblical virtue. (Ironically, the idea that we should go out of our way to find people who are different from us is based on values that are uniquely Western and European in origin. Embracing those values requires you to assume that the Western, European ideas are superior to the alternative value systems that are present in other cultures. So in order to give special attention to the ideas of non-white, non-Western people, you need to disproportionately emphasize white Western values. Do you see the problem there?)
What can we do to help race relations?
Morgan Freeman' answer: Stop talking about it.
In other words Stop taking the bait.
Asian racism is ok because of Covid-19 but any other racism is not? Hypocrites!
I believe evil communism is at the center of all of this, not race, not George. God made us all the skin color He did. So accept that. It's okay to be white.
Why are they assuming that ethnic minorities have necessarily different voices?
Are we going to start having conversations on rape and murder too?
Race relations is not the problem. Race baiting, propaganda and mass censorship are the problem.
Everyone needs to get over their skin color. Period
Segregate.
Action speaks louder than words! Love one another as I have loved you.
