I like when you said you been grafted in 10:49
What about Ephesians 2:13 ”But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.“
The Law is about not doing what your supposed to not do. Following Jesus is about doing what He says, what we're supposed to do. That changes everything. The Law is now superceded.
Thank you God ❤ second Paul the apostle.thanks for the understanding teaching of the word… ❤
This is my favorite from you. Thank you ❤
Thanks for your breadth of research into the scriptures and grappling with the subject of 'law'. I am attempting to understand your perspective on its existence, its audience and its application which was initiated at Mount Sinai 3,336 years ago. Your 'Shema' podcast was spot on, and showed correctly that listening + obeying = shema.
However, it seems that in 'Which Laws Still Apply', it is suggested that those were merely ancient laws, given specifically to the nation of Israel, but relegated to failure because they could not be fully obeyed. Demographically, one might argue that the obedience of Torah perished with the last living witness of Sinai – but in reality, Moshe created the teaching momentum of it so that all generations, until now and beyond us, could access the wisdom, obedience and blessing of Torah. This includes the commonwealth of Israel, along with the grafted-in goyim then and now.
Perhaps I'm not understanding the premise of this video, but as King David [Psalm 119] declares Torah as 'righteous' and 'eternal', it appears that we should then view Torah as God's everlasting law, knowing that He does not change. After all, when Yeshua comes, stands on the Mount of Olives and initiates His yeshiva at Yerushalayim, He will again teach Torah, His eternal law, by which the earth and its inhabitants will begin the restoration process, with 'all nations streaming there to learn' [Isaiah 2].
Zooming out, can God's eternal law even be relegated to time? Are His good laws subject to revision by those who choose to evade them? Does God bring people to obedience and restoration through His laws, or by the rules of men du jour? Would God tease people with an unattainable goal and then judge them for noncompliance? Our prevailing societal culture is that some folks want to go freestyle, avoiding any instructions which are deemed restrictions – this is not working out so well for us.
Rabbi Paul acknowledged that he obeyed the Torah flawlessly. Yeshua obeyed it – that was the measure by which He was made righteous. He had to grapple with yetzer hara and yetzer ha tov every day, making decisions based on the Torah. Laws pertaining to priests, women, fathers and such were not relevant to Him, but He obeyed everything that was. Torah is certainly within reach of people, and it takes a community of people to pull it off.
But in my personal experience, the observation and obedience to Torah, though imperfect at times, is a beautiful connection with Father God. The 613 [maybe more] mitzvot that I can do are a blessing. They make more sense than church doctrines, or mere governmental regulations and actually help us to love God and love our neighbor.
Please share your thoughts on this, thanks.
I appreciate the challenge to take such a monumental study as God’s Law and try to break it down into modern application. As sincere as these gentlemen are, the errors in their presentation are monumental as well.
God gave the 10 commandments to the ancient nation of Israel at Mt. Sinai( Exodus 20:1-17) and He ADDED NO MORE
(Deuteronomy 5:22). The first four of those ten inform the individual of how to love God. The last six teach how to love fellow man. One of mankind’s great problems has been rejecting revelation from God and substituting his own human reasoning independent of God. Man’s first parents rejected God’s instructions and chose their own reasoning under the sway of Satan. Their progeny as a whole since then has followed the same path, evident even in this series. Every statute, judgment and or testimony given to Israel was based on one or more of the original Ten Commandments. One of the presenters picked up on the spiritual intent of the commandments which Christ explained in the gospels, but he completely missed the entire point that Christ was breaking ALL of the commandments down to their spiritual intent. They were not just arbitrary rules for an ancient people. They are laws that Govern man’s relationship with God, and his relationship with fellow man. Look at the Sabbath command (Exodus 20:8:11). God didn’t make Israelites on the 6th day of creation, He made MAN(Mark 2:27). Deuteronomy 4:6-9 explains that the laws given to Israel were to be an example to other nations of the blessings that would result from keeping those laws. These are laws for mankind. Neither Abel, Enoch, Noah or Abraham were Israelites, but they all kept God’s commandments(Matthew 23:35, 2 Peter 2:5, Genesis 26:5). The mainstream Christian cannot comprehend that Christ is returning to Earth to set up His Kingdom and will Reign with His Bride over physical mankind! What laws will God’s Government enforce at that time? Why the 10 commandments and ALL the statutes and judgments from those commandments that will be necessary to govern the Earth at that time. For example, the land Sabbath command will be enforced. Why? Because this is God’s law on how to help take care of the earth and to prosper from it. This is an amazing study in itself. Will some statutes and judgements be different? Of course they will. But the premise will be exactly the same. Ancient Israel, just like every other nationality will receive God’s Spirit when they are resurrected to physical life after Christ’s Return(Ezekiel 36:26-27, Joel 2:2829). God is the author of law and the lawgiver (James 4:12). God’s Spiritual Law will be kept for all eternity (Revelation 22:14). We should all rejoice in that!
All Laws apply, Laws MAY Only BE CHANGED if it is replaced by The SAME persons in authority. We haven't had a Moses again. ❤
I see the TOs and SDAs found this podcast, hopefully they actually listened.
Let us not forget that Isreal was a nation. Even as a Christian, we have our country’s laws and God’s laws. It is an offence against the country to steal. Same way it is an offence against God. Isreal had laws to govern themselves as a nation since they are humans. God also has his everlasting law he deals with with his people. Because of how Isreal is, it might be difficult to distinguish with the two, but God wrote His laws with His finger . Those laws still apply to whoever follows God. However the other laws to govern the nation applies to the inhabitants and the punishments are determined by them.
Let us look at the Sabbaths talked about
The Sabbath was observed by God Himself in creation, before sin came.
Sabbath can never be thrown away.
In the new earth , we are going to live sinless, how then is the Sabbath abolished?
IMO. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING;ESPECIALLY SIMCE WE LVE AFTER THE DEATH of JESUS!! N- O-T-H-I-N-G@!!!!6
Im sorry I do not have such a "love handle" as all of you, I have so much to say as to this but was kicked off. Guesd i jave nothing to day , Right!@!@!!!!!
🙏🏿
First off
Who is Christ Jesus?
Find the answer to that in John and Revelation.
Now you know Christ Jesus is Almighty God.
So when He says if you love Me keep My commands, He means all that apply to you. The big 10.
The holy appointment times.
The food laws.
The clothing laws.
Shabbat observance.
The reason people couldnt keep the laws was all the extras put on them called cuetoms and traditions.
Amd if someone is trying to tell you otherwise, theyre lying.
Its simple.
He said to be holy.
He said sin no more.
All is posibble through Almighty God.
Still miss watching you guys but I am sooo enjoying the lessons I guess I'm adapting.
Theres sadly alot of Hebrew Roots cult in this comment section.
Please address one of the clearest messages Jesus ever uttered on this very topic, as brought up by @wayfaringfarmer2724 some months ago: Matthew 5:18-19. That would be more helpful than essentially saying, "Well, you sort of have to go by some of this stuff, but sort of don't." Wouldn't that then apply to all of it? If the law (all 613), which is clearly spelled out, can be dismissed, why not then the rest? I'm actually a big proponent of discernment, using our ears to hear and eyes to see, so I'd be interested to see what you have to say on this. With deep love and respect for my sisters and brothers at your channel.
This is a great channel for people looking to study scripture, learn truth and not what sounds good to their ears which is mostly lies.
