I can't respect a preacher who believes that God is Mad at us. Jesus always came up with a 'third way' if you will; you, on the other hand, like most religions, are dualistic in your thinking.
@5:37 So IOW, God has a love/hate relationship with sinners?
I find I'm have a love/hate relationship with your teaching right now.
Wow, this is such a common saying that is not thought through. Great teaching!
God loves all people, sin is harmful to people he loves, so his thoughts toward sin is in the context of those facts.
Thank you so much. I’ve been trying to tell people this and I fail to properly explain what I’m saying. This video has been great. Thanks again.
Pastorisms are pastors being lazy with their messages. Much of the time they put a time limit on their message, instead of saying "we'll pick this up next time".
It's a catchphrase that doesn't mean anything practically. If Christians accurately said what they practice, the phrase would be "hate everybody that's not like us, even other Christians that disagree with our doctrine."
"Hate the sin?" Almost everything in Christianity is sin. If you go fishing on Sunday morning instead of Church, it's sin. If you pay your bills before you pay your tithes, it's sin. Put God first in your finances or else be cursed with a curse.
God curses you because he loves you. However, one way or another, God will collect his money. 😡
John 17:8
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
Of course, if Yahweh isn't real, then it's not possible to sin against him at all, so this entire adage would be moot. Let's first establish the existence of Yahweh, then we can have this conversation.
I think part of the problem is that so many people find their identity in their own sin. So, for example, when someone says “I’m gay,” they’re not just telling you they are same sex attracted, “being gay” is part of their primary identity. The way they walk, dress themselves, what they talk about, where they go to hang out, their choice of friends, etc.
So, when they hear the phrase, “hate the sin love the sinner,” they don’t have the ability to separate their actions, from who they are: it’s the same in their eyes.
You might as well say, “hate the sin, hate the sinner.”
To me this is like a parent. Who loves their.children.. But hates.it when they do bad things they dont like..a parent can't just give EVERYTHING the kids.want..or.not teach them right from.wrong.. If you spare the rod…I can't remember the rest..
