To bad this didn't pass then! What a difference it would be now…So much of our taxes dollars and CoronaVirus relief is/are going to this! Sad that we currently can not make our teachers return to work…and they are receiving TRILLIONS of dollars
This was the beginning of polarization. After this we saw identity politics and tribalism take over our society. I still hold out hope for the current generations, once they come to grips with reality they will try to start a dialogue for change. Also I hate to say it but the Republican Party will need to soften its stance on unions and labor in general. The new generation won’t vote for you if you keep persecuting workers.
well – what is wrong about taking away the unions and the jews, if it stopes there ??? 😮
One really awesome thing is this is going to prove that it’s not that deadly because if these people aren’t on deaths door step in 14 days to a month that proves them wrong but I hope to God we don’t stay that long…
Deferred payments are due probably in three weeks one lump sum of three months how are people going to pay that? How are people going to pay their car payments how are people going to pay their mortgage on their businesses? How are people even holding on to insurance. Let us get back to work
Well lady I’ll tell yah, you could’ve kept people inside and started opening up businesses now you have thousands standing arm in arm you’re an ignorant woman.
What is that man doing with a life size Obama posterboard… 🤨😆🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Wisconsin protest was about the Establishment vs. the Working Class. I was there every day and the Unions didn’t even show up for weeks in the beginning. Walker took tens of thousands of jobs and homes to give big corporations like the Kochs even more tax cuts. This wasn’t about workers paying for their health care and pensions. This was about people being sick and tired of banks and the Fed taking our paychecks every week and our pensions every 7 years.
It's starts with useful dupes that will unquestionably support corruption.
So rightwing morons!! How do you like Scott Walkers corruption scandal that just broke? No? Lets bash teachers and firefighters instead 😉
look at Wisconsin now. Their budget bill failed miserably
Got to love them no bid contracts to really show fiscal conservatism
I'm really glad the Koch brothers are on our side on the issue of pensions. They got Walker elected governor and plan to spend $135 million on ads against Michigan lawmakers who favor using state money to help bail out Detroit.
OMG this music….
oh ok
me trolling? im not discussing anything with you because you dont listen
You again? Are you just trolling now?
Did you know Obama was funded by Goldman Sachs, CitiGroup, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, GE, Microsoft.
Every politician/political organization is funded by someone with a shit ton of money. Your argument is a straw man used to instill fear into people to prevent them from researching the negative calamities of Unions.
How many public sector unions fund democrats with tax payer money?
Heritage Foundation = Koch Funded = Funded/Owns Scott Walker = A horribly misleading video. Knowing where information is filtering from is a valuable tool when educating yourself.
$78,000 for an 180-day school year?! WHAT?!!!
Yeah … sure … not a "union backed protest" … OK. Nothing to see here folks, move along, right? I love when these public – and many private, as well – unions do this kind of rabble rousing then when questioned put up their hands and so, "who, me?" Unions are every bit as driven by strategizing and slick marketing as any company they're fighting against. The old "we're innocent, hard working average American workers ran headlong and stopped against big union corruption decades ago.
I'm flabbergasted… Is these women serious? They don't want Disney teaching the Children of the US? It would be much better that the waste that's going on now under the DOE. What's she afraid of, that the children will WANT to go to school instead of escaping into oblivion during class? Inner city kids smoke pot in class now… Oh that's right! I forgot! The Left loves pot. They elected two pot smoking Presidents and let's not forget Marion Berry being re-elected. Man, we are so doomed.
Yeah this guy. Cause we have seen the collapse of all the "right to work" states right? Workers' unions had their place back in the day but now they just abuse their power. Take the money they pay in to the union and give themselves a raise.
Heritage Foundation-Corporate money-lies.you are all brainwashed or paid commentators. The truth is not on this video. This one must be the corporate myth version.
They wouldn't be. How do we go from asking a public employee union to be fair and reasonable to assuming that Wal-Mart will be teaching our kids? That doesn't make any sense and is beyond hyperbole. Unfortunately, in discussions like this, reason is put on the back burner. Any attempt to ask a public union member to live in the real world (paying for a reasonable % of their benefits, following work rules that those paying their salaries have to, etc.) becomes tantamount to nazism!? Ridiculous
The last comment is the most important. Do we really want large corporations teaching our kids?
its about budgeting because union thinks they should get paid way more than they should. lolz
Not ONE of those fucking union moonbats are even fit to work in a McDonalds.
The only community that his killing is the union thugs way of life. Your Gov. Walker his loved by the people of the state of Wisconsin. You're just using union and Democratic talking points. However, if you are unhappy you do have the right to immigrate to a different state, Illinois is close and it would fit your lifestyle. You could live on the south side of Chicago and feel right at home.
The budget is not balanced – tax revenues are falling lower than projected, partly due to recession hanging on, partly due to Walker's tax cuts for businesses. Walker borrowed more than his predecessors did to cover the cash gap. Services and education are being cut, not maintained. As a business owner, I need a strong middle class for my business to thrive, and if the middle class and my business thrive, then our communities and our state will thrive. Walker is killing the middle class.
I think you must misunderstand me I believe that Gov. Walker is doing a great job up in Wisconsin. He's busting ass on the criminal union personnel. He's also balancing the budget for you people. And, given enough time. He may be able to get some of the drug addicts jailed.
You sound like premenstrual little girl, you should have completed high school. You would have a better understanding history as pertaining to the pre-World War II Germany.
The unions are scumbags, criminals, and taking advantage of the ignorance of the union members. As demonstrated by the individuals that were interviewed and talking on this video, they are intellectually very limited. And also have a feeling that many of them are addicted to drugs or mental illness that would explain their lack of ability to form a logical argument.
It's not about any particular ideology. It's about the democratic process. How do WE the people run OUR government? Public notice, and an opportunity to know what's before the legislature and comment on it? Or, taking checks from billionaires and handing over our state's energy plants in exchange — without any notice to the people who are affected ?
It was not a "union – backed protest". It was a spontaneous outpouring of support by many ordinary people. (Perhaps hundreds of thousands of them, but nobody really knows an exact count.) Union members were there, but they were not paid by their locals. They paid their own expenses, and showed up because the governor lied to get into office, and tried to pass a bill without public notice or debate, and then closed the public comment while hundreds of people were waiting in line to speak.
You are right about keeping government wages lower. I wish congress would get their salaries cut.
mea culpa. I should have used a modifier such as "some" WI government workers, or "unionista" WI government workers. Several decades ago, the main attraction of public sector employment was the "job security" (or tenure) aspect of civil service—rather than the wages. Public employment "wages" and benefits were NECESSARILY kept lower, because they were paid-for with tax dollars. "Collective bargaining" for higher wages and benefits should NEVER have been allowed for government employees.
These are only some government workers. Just because some people in a group say something doesn't mean all of them feel that way.
Judging by the attitudes of the people in this clip, WI government workers have been spoiled for so many decades, they have lost all sense of perspective in the real world outside of government employment.
If any service can be provided by the private sector more cheaply–or with better quality—than the government can provide it, it is insane for the government to extract taxes to provide that service.
There are only two types of people in American society: net tax-providers and net tax-recipients. All government employees—that get a paycheck or paid benefits—are net tax "recipients"; private sector employees are net tax "providers." Allowing net tax recipients to collectively bargain AGAINST net tax-providers is slow economic suicide.
The USA would be smarter if all Wisconsin teachers were fired.Does preaching for entitlements make you a 'teacher'? Nope.
Wrong!
Hitler destroyed all independent unions: banned the right to strike and collective barging and created the DAF(both employers and workers joined).
I'm not trying to pick a fight but that's not exactly correct. Hitler didn't destroy the unions. He co opted them into the government. You could almost say he turned them into public sector unions! Still I think that we can all do better than these ridiculous Nazi/Hitler comparisons to make our points. On either side.
CEO salaries have risen 15-25% the past 2 years while worker wages haven't done shit. You call that good? Hell let's cut their taxes some more while we're at it. Just keep kissin the rich mans ass and you'll be in the poor house soon enough, cause that's where he wants us all.
That music is perfect!
I'm a Republican and I have belonged to 3 different unions in the past. I hope I never have to join one again because they don't do a damn thing for you. If I had all my union dues back and had them invested in a 401K, I could be retired already. I have no desire to fatten the bank account of the big union bosses. Let the Democrats earn their campaign cash the old fashioned way like we have to. Go beg for it!
