Mike Gonzalez joined NPR, Monday, October 5, to talk about the latest on critical race theory, why it is so poisonous, and the need to resist those who advocate it in academia, the federal government, and corporate America.

Mike Gonzalez, senior fellow at the Douglas and Sarah Allison Center for Foreign Policy, spent close to 20 years as a journalist, 15 of them reporting from Europe, Asia and Latin America. He left journalism to join the administration of President George W. Bush, where he was speechwriter for Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox before moving on to the State Department’s European Bureau, where he wrote speeches and Op-Eds.

  3. CRT is a cheap excuse to defend / protect the esteem of the minority
    They think that comparing them selves in the light most favorable to them will elevate them
    They can NOT get over CRIME – EMOTION – INTELLECT -DNA – etc despite what the media says cause the media is Fake news and not believable ???
    Thus the CRT is proof that their esteem is nagging at them

  7. CRT proponents teach that "punctuality" is a white concept….that's ridiculous! They are insulting black people, as well as bringing our nation down by teaching that punctuality is actually a BAD thing.

  9. My parents immigrated to the U.S. to be able to get ahead and taught us to work hard to accomplish our goals in life. Self-hating and wallowing in self-pity of any race is disgusting. It creates a victim mentality that prevents an individual from moving forward by blaming their failures on someone else.

  10. I’m Hispanic and I’m absolutely abhorred at the mincing of words to explain the evil of CRT. CRT is an oxymoron. Pretending to fight racism by being racist. It’s like antifa practicing fascism as they boast of being against it. True education and learning real history is key. How about treating all humans as humans. No.. I don’t need a PhD social justice worrior to teach me common sense. I can see their true colors. (no pun intended)

  11. Gonzalez is right, of course, but he didn't make his point well. He argued from a couple of legitimate examples but failed to rebut the premise that CRT was about happy inclusiveness and happy diversity, instead of a totalizing ideology that views the world as competiting ethnic power structures.

  13. The only people who ever tried to viciously shame me for their perception of my skin color were so called 'anti-racists'/CRT activists. They don't even see the irony of trying to shame someone for their skin color. This stuff foments nothing but cynicism and hate.

Also the other thing is really annoying as people want to make it seem like only black Americans were slaves if you're talkin about strictly America then you're probably right but if you're talking about all the other corners of the world every race has had to deal with slavery or oppression at some point ancient Rome didn't care what skin tone you were if you weren't of royal decent you would be fighting in the Colosseum to the death for people's entertainment and it didn't matter if you were white or black you were going to die fighting for your freedom all the same

You can't fight racism with racism I don't even understand how that has to even be questioned instead of trying to use racist views to force on children and young adults why don't you just focus on making better productive people on society because you say you're against the caste system that you feel is in place but then you still want to create a racial caste system where things are delegated by race and gender or have people play victims because of their skin tone and then try to guilt an entire race past mistakes by their ancestors that they weren't even around to see people's skin is not their sin racism has always been taught down and you're still trying to keep on teaching if you legitly want people be treated like equals or not judge people by their skin tone then stop judging other people for their skin tone that they had no ability control

  18. If you oppose any particular issue on critical race theories, simply explain your own version of why those theories shouldn't apply.

    If not, listen to. There's a problem and these theories open a door to explain the problem in order to solve the problem.

    The truth is there are no inferior races.

  21. Critical race theory says every facet of culture is 'socially constructed' to benefit white supremacy. Everything including math, science, individualism, objective truth, free speech, the Enlightenment period (the list goes on). Bill Gates literally said "math is racist." The students at Pomona College said "objective truth is a myth espoused by white supremacists."

    Critical race theory is illiberal and anti-intellectual.

    This insanity needs to end.

  26. If the Black professor(Hasan Jeffries)thinks that a America is such a no good racist country, then he should leave, renounce his citizenship, and move to a country whose foundations he feels are inclusive enough and otherwise meet his standards of social justice, otherwise he is a hypocrite.

  27. Its no nice to hear someone criticize CRT that isn't a full on republican that just wants to bitch about the left. CRT is nuts and I'm on the left. I've agreed with Trump on one thing and that is this needed to be banned. Unfortunately Biden reinstated it.
