Very interesting Character that Abraham tithed to him…. And when Jesus was baptized he was made a priest forever in the order of Melkezildek and oh ya wasn’t born and didn’t die ..he just showed up and disappeared ..he seemed part John the Baptist part Jesus in his role ..only he seemed to have arrived in a different way I wish there was more in there about him … I mean Abraham tithed to him! Yet the Bible barely mentions him …he was keeping a low profile for some reason. I’m going to check out your pod cast …I’m just so curious
Malkizedek is Jesus 😉
When Tim says the Hebrew word for "bread" can also mean "feast," he is talking about a really common linguistic phenomenon called a synecdoche. We use them in English all the time. For example, when we say "Offer your hand in marriage," "hand" stands in for the whole person. It isn't just your hand that gets married. Speakers of ancient Hebrew used "bread" in the same way to mean not just the bread, but the whole meal.
There's a really important skillset to reading the Bible that I am so glad you all are highlighting. We as 21st century, likely western, likely 1st world thinkers have all sorts of innate questions and values that we bring to Scripture without realizing it. When we do that, we can get hung up on (important) questions that are nevertheless irrelevant to the message of the text. Questions like "Does God take sides?" or "Does God approve of slavery?" are definitely worth asking and discussing, but they are also not at all what the text is actually talking about. Thinking about the Bible in those terms has really opened my eyes a lot to the message that is there, and I have you all to thank for that.
Keep up the excellent work and God bless!
Jen Klen, slavery is Still practiced today. The Muslims, (providers of slaves in the slave trade to Britain and the United states, and others), still engage in slavery today. Don't be naive. The people under communism are enslaved, which is why the goods coming from China, Vietnam, etc are so cheap.

God bless you.
I have noticed something which you might change later on (or you might already have). I was listening to this video and I decided to plug in my headphones and I only noticed then, that the stereo sound should have been mirrored (or was accidentally mirrored) left-to-right. So when facing the screen, when the person on the left speak, the sound comes from the right and same for the other side. [I have checked whether I had the headphones on correctly. :)]
The other nations didnt worship him they worshipped other Gods. He gave grace to all that worshipped him, who called him.
