Slavs were enslaved. Irish traded in slavery and so did Vikings. The Ottoman Empire still had slaves until after the the First World War , I believe. Mostly from the Balkans

What does this have to do with the American history of slavery? American slavery (i.e. the cause of the Civil War) was race based slavery. The Confederates felt that the enslavement of black people was a good thing. The Union cause largely disagreed, as did the Europeans.
In other words, in 1860, the Confederates were unique in the entire Christian world. They were unique in the world of Western Civilization. The only Christians, and the only people educated in Voltaire and Locke, who believed in slavery were Confederates. And the Confederates based their belief in slavery in a white supremacist, racist ideology.
The British banned slavery and enforced it abolition. The British had an embargo against cotton bought from the confederacy in the south of the USA. It's the British that stopped slavery being acceptable worldwide not the US.

‘Black Rednecks and White Liberals’ is an interesting book, and Sowell makes some good points. But pinning the bad behaviour of African Americans entirely upon the bad behaviour of uneducated/poor British immigrants, is overly simplistic. Many African societies, from which African slaves in the USA originate, were highly violent and possessed many of the same characteristics that modern African Americans revere – e.g. strong man leadership.

If there was no demand for slaves, would Africans have enslaved others to me sold? Wouldn't the change in demand, increase the supply? Evil is evil and although this video presents a lot of facts it should not lead people to view the American slave trade in a more favorable manner.
As far as I can tell this is literally true. But also incredibly partial. It gives the figures for Muslim slave trade on the east coast yet none for the west coast. Says slave traders had little understanding of the conditions of slaves in Africa yet no mention of the horrific conditions they were transported to America in.
Murder is part of the human condition. Should we say let's not detest its practice. This is such a dumb position to take.

Globally, there are 50 million slaves still in existence, but amazingly 94 countries have no laws directly banning slavery. Which to be clear, this doesn’t mean all 94 countries have slaves and of the 50 million slaves, 98% are held within 13 countries, but it’s amusing almost half of UN recognized nations have never technically banned the practice.

You've spent 8 minutes doing the usual conservative rebuttal: "But look! Squirrel!" Nothing you've said here changes any of the facts regarding the spread of slavery in the southern US long after other major empires (e.g., the British Empire) had put a stop to the practice. Defending your crime by pointing out that someone else committed the same crime earlier is not a very strong defense.

Fact number one American slavery was based on white supremacy. Fact number two the Western European in the Americas voluntarily entered into the economic system of slavery underpinned by racism . Just because other immoral people practiced slavery doesn’t mean a people who claim to be Christians should be practicing slavery. Christians are supposed to be the followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ and Jesus never taught to enslave another person.
