From Africa to Alabama | 5 Minute Videos | PragerU
Martha Njolomole grew up in a village in Malawi, Africa. Her laundromat was a nearby river. Her school was a clearing under a tree. When she won a scholarship to come to America, she was overwhelmed by the comparative luxury. What was the secret to America’s success? She had to find out.

Do you know how great America is? Even in the poorest state which is Mississippi people have access to running water and electricity.
"We have a better life than those in one of the poorest nations of the world, therefore we live in the best country in the world. Because of Capitalism. Don't ask too many questions please."
Thank you for telling the truth.
It seems American young people, & their teachers, don’t how lucky they are to live in such a great place. They should go to Malawi like where this woman is from… or any other third world country & then maybe they’d realise what a good life they have. I’d recommend Cuba, Venezuela or any of the other “socialist paradises” they seem to admire so much! 🙄
🇺🇲 Whatever your opinions, don't come here and criticize us for the way we choose to live. Don't like it? Go home and fix your own country
Why don’t you go back to Malawi, and help YOUR people, Martha? Once you received your Master’s why didn’t you return and help YOUR people? It’s not as if you are like another African-American, Elon Musk, Who built an empire, which provides jobs for thousands of American citizens. You, evidently, want people to believe you are a conservative, but there’s nothing conservative about abandoning YOUR people just so you can have better access to water and electricity. Selfishness is not a conservative value.
It's a wonderful land of opportunity that has flaws and those flaws can be criticised
This young lady comes with an unfinished prospective…. You can have amerikkka!
Nonsensical propaganda. If the West would stop backing dictators and staging coups the continent could actually developed. That is why the entire continent is siding with China and Russia over America and Europe.
for those in America and from other parts of the world., this is her story not all Africans have the same experience as her., dont group us Africans as going through the same., Her Family was poor and thats it
So glad to see a fellow Malawian on Prager U
lol! What a joke to think the Trump/maga/gop will ever truly accept them. Ask Steven Miller.
Love the video but I really wish people would stop using the word “democracy” to describe our system of government. We are a republic. The founders were firm about that.
I am an American by birth. I am a US citizen. Mom and Dad immigrated to USA from India in the 1970s. My wife of 20 years is an immigrant from Vietnam.
The USA is great for many things. Perhaps the best thing that Americans can do is live in a country like Malawi for a time. Learn to appreciate all that is good in the USA. Not having something makes one realize what they take for granted.
We have a lot of Africans where I live. They’re super conservative and really cool. They get the ideals of America better than most natural born citizens. That’s what immigration was supposed to be.
Thank you for saying this again. Well done, Miss Njolomole.
4:17 Maybe they’re evil.
Imagine had she gone to a different school here in the US and was taught to hate this country like so many students have been throughout the decades. Many of our schools have taught generations of students to hate this country and everything about it.
Very smart lady.
I’m sure I had to pay for this. I’m so tired of paying for these people to get an education.
Word.
She is lucky (no, blessed) that she ended up at Troy U rather than Harvard or Columbia.
Come live in a corrupt and dysfunctional country like Uganda and you'll forever be grateful for the great privilege you have being an American
I love the United States but I hate the government.
Why is Africa so far behind the rest of the world when we were told this was the first place on earth humans came from. Something wrong there.
America is so great the people that hate it refuse to leave.
That so many young people have been taught to hate their own nation, and others in the name of "justice" is one of the greatest injustices of all time. 100% agree with President Trump, Abolish the Department of Education NOW!
Is she wearing blue contacts 😮
How about offer all these people a one-way ticket to the country of their choices as long as they don't come back for at least 5 years or maybe 10?
For each one that chooses to give up their citizenship we accept one more legal immigrant. that way those who hate America can leave plus it opens up spaces for those who want to be here. Win Win!🎉
We could even make it so whatever country they move to when they give up their citizenship we take an Immigrant from that country. Call it a fair trade
How about for every American who hates America that leaves the country and gives up citizenship we let in one extra legal immigrant those who hate America leave those who want to be here come win-win🎉
America, a country so awesome that even its most strident critics prefer to be here.
I got this ad and usually I skip ads but I didn’t skip this one because it sounded interesting and informative, I liked the lady’s voice.
Great video!
Bravo!! Thank you Martha for this video
This is one of the most uplifting videos I've seen recently. Thanks.
🇺🇸WELCOME TO AMERICA🇺🇸
May you continue to flourish, thrive and may many blessings come into your life🙏🏼
Required viewing for spoiled brats who hate our country.
Americans who want socialism are the most foolish people in the world. 100% true. Millions of people will sell their kidneys to get to the US if they are given a chance. I haven't been to the US, but I've been to Europe, and even there, the level of prosperity surprised me greatly. First-worlders don't understand with it means for water to run in your kitchen 24/7, or for the light bulb to come on when you flick the switch. That's why they're willing to give it all away to feel morally superior. Hopefully, they don't get what they wish for.
Belgium here.
Couldn't agree more.
I love the US.
Belgium is screwed.
We are turning communist each more day passes.
They, the EU or anyone who's in charge these days is using the scare of climate change to empose climate communism.
With each year that goes by everything is getting more expensive especially things like meat, chicken, eggs, is all getting expensive because they are killing of the farmers with nitrogen laws making it illegal to have cows, piggs or chickens.
They discouraged people from buying and using cars by taxes and ridiculous slow speed limits making it no longer economical to drive more than 30 km.
We can't do any jobs further than that because it simply takes to much time.
City centers are the worst.
Rules are now made in such a way most companies just avoid City centers.
As for jobs, it's better not to work as you are paid more and better on social security.
That creates other problems like long waiting lists for plumbers, electricians and other tradesman.
I studied the effects of ussr style communism when doing economy back in 1994.
Many of the things I wrote in my thesis are now today visible in our daily lives.
I guess it will take another 30 to 40 years until the EU will have the same style collapse as the USSR had back in 1989.
I'm hoping to find a way to immigrate to the USA hopefully warning many not to follow the path of socialism, climate socialism and or other excuses of socialism.
