  20. It's like in French. We have two words for "Hope". The first is "espoir", which means wishing for the best outcome. Then there is "espérance", which is waiting happily for something to happen. So the theologal virtue of "hope" is called "espérance" in French, as it is waiting happily for Christ's promise to be realized.

Hope is knowing that you are condemned to suffer in this life since the day that you are born because your great great great great great great great great ……… Great great great great grandparents ate an apple, and now you either believe a convoluted theology and praise your abusive master or be tortured eternally.

  27. So, these are some questions coming from someone who is rather low on 'hope' at the moment…
    1. What do you do while you are hoping/waiting?
    2. What if the thing you are waiting/hoping for doesn't come in your lifetime? What was the point in waiting? E.g. Prophets foretelling of Jesus coming, yet He never came in their lifetimes, so what was the point in waiting and hoping if there the answer never came for them? Does that not make their hope/waiting meaningless?
    3. What would you do if ultimately what you are waiting/hoping for doesn't come to pass?
    4. What would you do if you are broken because what you are hoping for doesn't come to pass and you are just left with disappointment?
    (Before anyone answers with 'Just trust God', or 'His ways are higher'/'It is on His time not yours', please give an explanation, not just a bunch of Bible verse references. Anyone can just throw a reference without an explanation.)

  34. I think this is the best by far. I don't often leave comments on videos but I just had to respond to this one. I was borrowed over by the insightful teaching and amazingly appropriate and helpfully explanatory accompanying graphics. Keep it up!

  35. Loved this so much I had to listen to it 5 times. With my health condition, it can be hard to maintain hope in the Lord for a better future with less pain, but I was encouraged to be reminded that hope is a choice you can make despite any evidence that things will get better ❤️🙏.
