Twenty or fifty or even a hundred years ago, if you asked someone which of the world’s countries was the most diverse, most equitable, and most inclusive, they would have almost certainly answered “the United States.”

Not anymore.

What changed?

Well, nothing… and everything.

Nothing in the sense that America is still the opportunity-rich place it’s always been.

And everything because the progressive left has hijacked those three words—diversity, equity, and inclusion—and turned them into weapons of mass destruction. This DEI trio makes up the neutron bomb that has laid waste to a good part of our educational and corporate institutions.

Given the damage that has been done, it might be a good idea to see what these words used to mean and what they mean now.

Diversity used to mean that people of different backgrounds were free to join a group or association.

Equity used to mean enforcing equal standards for all individuals and groups.

Inclusion used to mean allowing people of every background and identity to participate in a group or association.

Now, in their DEI context, these words all mean one thing: applying unequal standards to ensure preferential outcomes for individuals and groups based on race, sex, and gender identity.

The DEI movement is not about a sincere desire to make educational or corporate institutions more diverse, more equitable, or more inclusive.

If you don’t believe me, try having an open discussion on your company message board or at your next DEI seminar about why the same standards should apply to everyone, everywhere, regardless of race, sex, or gender identity.

Try that and you know what will happen: You’ll be shouted down, shunned, reprimanded, and maybe fired.

DEI is ultimately about only one thing: advancing those who are not white, heterosexual, and male at the expense of white, heterosexual men, regardless of their respective qualifications.

If you say, well, that’s fine because white, heterosexual men had too many advantages for too long, then I would ask: What about all the women, gays, blacks, and Latinos who were born into privilege? Should they be recipients of special DEI preferences?

And when do we know we’ve reached a DEI endpoint? When do we know that everything is finally diverse, equitable and inclusive?

There are no good answers to any of these questions. That’s a feature, not a bug of the DEI racket. America will never be able to DEI its way out of its DEI “problem.” It’s the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You never reach your goal because it doesn’t exist. You’ll never quite be diverse enough, equitable enough or inclusive enough.

The DEI obsession has been great for one group of people and one group only: The lavishly paid DEI administrators at every Fortune 100 company, college, and university; and all those who work under them.

Corporations now pay millions upon millions of dollars to so-called DEI experts to spread division and distrust among their own employees. It may be the single most non-productive, self-destructive thing a business can do to itself. But businesses, to their everlasting shame, are doing it anyway.

They think they’re trapped. If they don’t set up a DEI office, that proves their company is racist, sexist and homophobic. But if they do set up a DEI office, that proves their company is racist, sexist and homophobic. Or why else did they set up a DEI office in the first place?

  4. Disney is the poster child for DEI, reportedly so egregious that they had babysitters for some unqualified hires.

    What are the results?

    Record losses at the box office, a badly tarnished brand, plummeting stocks, and an alienated fan base. And — oh — they're laying off employees by the thousands.

  6. My job just implemented 2 DEI training courses that I refuse to take. What's also funny about the courses is that it is the only courses that had it's work comment section removed because everyone in the company was bashing it. All other courses show all comments except that one.

Dei,esg is political, they are putting political officers in every major company, ministry and office but selling it as empowerment of,so called “marginalized groups.” Once they convince you they have accomplished the goal ,the system remains of commissars and political officers to exercise governance in all sectors of society. Its the play book for every rise of totalitarian regimes, get educated people. See rise of the Nazi, Communism in Russia and the cultural revolution in China.

  13. This is idiotic. There are plenty of majority white companies. Y’all are acting like DEI is causing some sort of epidemic of white unemployment. Y’all act like the majority of jobs y’all do are SOOO mf hard that the only right candidate is the perfectly, overqualified one. Why is it wrong to allow underrepresented groups to gain and equal footing?

  14. My 19 year old daughter applied to Target online….their application process includes this inane "personality test" as well as asking one's race and gender. Well, for some reason they e-mailed her back rejecting her declaring she wasn't "a good fit at this time".

    Well, for kicks, I told her to change her race from white to black and change nothing else. Well, lo and behold, almost immediately Target reached out and told her she was "a perfect fit"

    Take from this what you will.

  26. Brown person here. Never been a victim and yet I’ve found MORE opportunity in areas where ppl are white and conservative than where they are “progressive and inclusive”. Why? Because I don’t have to walk on eggshells, I can be myself. I don’t have to worry about conforming to things that make no sense like a click. I am values by my work, not my church attendance or the color of my skin. I think it’s not made for us, it surely wasn’t made by us. It’s a front, a facade. Like BLM. Or the Nation of Islam for example, even Malcom saw it. In word, on paper, it works. but in practice it is a scam to screen the actual issue from coming to light. It’s like solving the homeless crisis by giving them more money from my taxes, cuz that’s what they need….right?

  28. This is so terribly sad. Let’s just be honest. White men for decades have always benefited from their privilege and not always their skill set. I’ve have seen so many white make managers who have no business managing a paper bag much less people solely because of his connections. So now it’s changing and white people are in an uproar!

  29. dei needs to be replaced with G.Y.S.T., Get Your Shit Together. G.Y.S.T. is a system of “would you like gainful employment? Act like a professional. Merit is the only thing that counts. If you can’t swing this, that’s on you. No one is catering to your situation. This is a business, not a psychologist’s office.”

  30. One youtuber once said that progress is treated like it's an upward linear trend, whereas it's actually more like a bell curve. After you reach the highest possible amount of progress, any attempt to obtain more will only cause regression.

  34. Actually DEI hurts black people. Now employers are targeting you for interviews and positions because of your race and not even truly respecting your skills. Not all DEI candidates are unskilled but when they are brought on as the “token” hire then they get labeled as only being hired for their race when they actually are skilled but the manager doesn’t bring them in with respect they bring them in like a charity case. So now no one in the office respects them and assumed they are stupid because they have been brought in as a showpiece for this stupid DEI. I said what I said and I’m black.

  36. I went through Raical Microagression with my new manager I reported to DEI and still they decided to put me on a Performance Improvement Plan and trying to get rid of me This is my current experience.
