Worked as a mercenary in Kambodia in the 80s, for the Vietnamese after the USA lost the war against them.
The Vietnamese were a new, poor, communist regime so the last thing they wanted was an absolutely batsh^t crazy psychotic neighbour.
Still – Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Starmer – it's just not a proper communist revolution without the mass murder of the population.
Professor Kingore fails to mention Nixon's and Kissinger's invasion of Cambodia put Pol Pot in power. The CIA told President's Johnson and Nixon if the US invaded Cambodia, its' people would turn to the Khmer Rouge. The Democratics Congress cut of funds to Vietnam and Cambodia because Nixon and Ford could not be trusted.

I like how the video brushed over Vietnam's 'invasion' of Cambodia from a 'border dispute'.
Khmer Rouge's brutality and horror stories were not unfamiliar to Vietnam. I know many Vietnamese vets alive to this day who went in with the sole intention to end Pol Pot's inhumane regime. Their leaders might've had other ideas, but the soldiers had no intention of staying after ending the atrocities there. And this was all happening under severe international backlash from other countries with their thumbs up their asses while claiming the moral high ground.
