This is an excellent discussion. Doubt, questions, confusion are part of the learning curve. Organized religion often fails to recognize this and sermon focused worship services aren't always helpful.

The Bible treats salvific belief is binary. ὁ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν οὐ κρίνεται· ὁ δὲ μὴ πιστεύων ἤδη κέκριται ὅτι μὴ πεπίστευκεν εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ μονογενοῦς υἱοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ. Yet, here is the suggestion that the existence of doubt is fine. Therefore, what degree of belief is necessary for salvation?
Rational belief is a degree of belief that maps to the degree of the relevant evidence. The Bible does not teach this. Read the book of James for its commentary on doubt. It is flawed at its epistemic foundation.

Doubt leads to confirmation. When you doubt, use that energy to research and study; just as you're doing now. Evidence destroys doubt, and we have a lot of evidence haha
This is comforting but not biblical… So many verses speak negatively of doubt and doubters.

question: is the doubt caused by depression or is the depression caused by doubt? LIke our friend Dr. Frank Turek likes to say, "correlation does not equal causation." Are these two states correlated or does one cause the other. This was not discussed.
