Are Mormons Christian? An Evangelical and Mormon In Conversation
Do Mormons and evangelicals share core beliefs about the faith? Do Mormons believe that men can become God? Is salvation by faith alone? What about plural marriage? Sean hosts a conversation on these important issues with an evangelical and a Mormon.
Over the past few years, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been releasing a number of essays in response to the biggest challenges to the church (DNA studies, the book of Abraham, plural wives of Joseph Smith, etc.). Do these essays sufficiently answer the challenges? Sean interviews Eric Johnson of the Mormon Research Ministry (mrm.org).

If you're a Mormon your mind has to be made from silly puddy.
Mormobs don't want you to know what they really believe until you devote yourself to their crap because they know from top up that they're liars.
They want to be called christians but their theology is contrary to biblical christianity. Very confusing
The legal name is “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”
Mormon was a prophet who more than 1,000 years ago abridged the Book of Mormon.
We also believe the Bible to be the word of God as long as it is translated correctly.
It seems to me that Joseph Smith was the L Ron Hubbard of the 1800s because both taught outrageous things, including that 'ye shall be as gods' which was Satan's original lie. NO, YOU SHALL NOT BE A GOD. THERE IS ONE GOD.
Sound sux…not worth listening too
You
When you read all these comments there is not one single comment from latterday saints that isn't nice about the evangelical beliefs the greatest commandment is to love one another which religions comments were more Christlike that is a fruit of the true church
If you say the plates were too heavy with God all things are possible he healed the blind turned water into wine etc
Lds definitely say jesus was born in Bethlehem im lds and have recently been on lds holy land tour and went to Bethlehem please check lds podcasts as there are so many misunderstandings about Mormon church and a lot of mysteries are not fully revieled as yet
If you ask God in prayer what he is like the holy spirit will testify it to your heart this is a heavenly way of learnig mysteries will only be revieled to us when we stop arguing
God works in mysterious ways
Thank you all for being friendly and respectful one of our authorities said we need other Christian religions to do missionary work to bring people to christ because there is too must to do on our own before jesus comes we need to respect one another
It is a waste of time debating over religion all that matters it is a more personal testimony when we walk and pray to heavenly the holy spirit will bring an understanding of the to us but only when we are ready God wont be mocked and and the spirit wont stay where there is contention
If you can't believe in joseph smith and book of Mormon how do you believe the bible miracles like a rod turning into a serpent also a donkey talking and many many more
We don't have a different jesus than in the bible as latterday saints
Mormons are theifs they steal from Christianity. Just look at what God says is a test for a prophet and zero I mean zero Mormon prophets pass this test . Christians believe in god Mormons believe they are or will be God
Even the very elect will fall
Sorry you don’t quite get it, but ask someone who does
Ask David Alexander he knows understands the Bible better than anyone
Hope Mormon go to the origin, read the Bible, the only divinely inspired scripture.
Revelation 22:18-19 NIV
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
I'm blown away how Scott is so unequip and unusually non-passionate.
Anyone that believes in Christ believes that Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ Worships Jesus is 100% Christian, Mormons are Christian by literal definition…
Celestrial kingdom has jesus christ father and heavenly mother
Both you are saved ffaith gets you to the terrestrial kingdom with jesus christ works like proxy baptism for dead gets you to celestial kingdom
If the plates weren’t gold then why did God keep the plates from Joseph until he was older so he wouldn’t be tempted by riches as taught??
Ordinary Mormons do not get into scriptures and doctrines and applications like ordinary Christians do. They just go to their meetings and cursorily read their materials and participate in outward acts and rely on their leaders, thinking that makes them good with God. There is no depth or self-examination. They do not think of themselves as sinners in need of saving. I think this is the most important difference!
Scott is saying yes that’s our doctrine but it’s not what we really believe?!? That’s because the LDS are walking back a lot of their now unpopular and embarrassing official doctrines.
Mormonism has an entirely different emphasis. No matter what they say, it is church and self-centered rather than Christ-centered. And we can’t be saved or grow spiritually by focusing on the leaders and trappings of an institution and our own works. There is no significant or consistent worship of God there.
If you truly come to Christ as a Mormon it is in spite of the church.
Mormons are baptized a member of the church, as Scott said, not because they believe in Christ. It’s the wrong emphasis. It’s all on the church institution.
