This is bizarre. Neither naturalism nor the Big Bang model propose that something came from nothing. I don’t know of any atheists, naturalists, or scientists who think something came from nothing. Where did you even get that idea?
It sounds like you converted to stay with a cute Christian girl, then adopted a strange post hoc explanation that apologists peddle in order to explain your change in a way that is unrelated to sex?
Ok, now where did the “big banger” come from?
So you became a christian because you were able to reason with it? I'm sorry but I don't see the gospel here, I don't see repentance of sins and the spiritual understanding of a Holy God that changed your relation with sin through His Word. Seems like you converted intellectually but not spiritually…
How can you "leave atheism"?
You were born an atheist, of course. Also, one does not "leave atheism" unless they suffer head trauma: atheism is the default.
The cosmological argument is unanswerable by atheists. It cannot be refuted. It doesn't make you a Christian but it detonates atheism inescapably.
Nothing comes from nothing..but your amazing god came from nothing…he wasnt born…so who made god…? our mind created him..!!
I am an atheist…who enjoy listening to other people's opinion regardless of my thoughts about it…the only thing that matters is how we behave in life…believing or not believing in god doesnt make people better or worse… It is amazing how people end up believing in mythology…zeus , osiris , thor , jehovah are all the same… Nobody believes in god..people just make believe, nobody give out their wealth to the poor as their leader once told them to do, the christian believer follows money just as non-believers do..pastors build mansions on earth not in heaven, because they know that there is no heaven ,…myths come from the human mind
Where's the rest of it? C'mon man!!!!
I am a ex-ordained minister. Had many 'supernatural' experiences, saw 'miracles', prophesied over individuals, received 'supernatural' incite into persons lives, those persons confirmed what I was saying is true etc, etc. Trust me it's all misunderstood. Christianity has it's benefits, at least morally there are good Christians out there. That being said the religion is non-sense. There maybe a Creator but not a loving God who cares and that 'God' definitely is not the God of the Bible!
Not a Christian but happy god saved you
An "ardent" atheist who has never heard of the Kalam?
Cosmologists don't agree the Universe had a beginning, so arguments predicated on that notion are on shaky ground.
From the standpoint of philosophy, if the state of affairs was ever utter 'nothingness', there would be nothing now.
The theist believes if you go back far enough you reach a beginningless god, for which there is no evidence. I think if you go back you keep finding more and more states of the Universe, which we can all agree exists.
The Bible 'book' = a compendium of fire side tales and fables,
recounted orally ,
for generations by goat herders and primitive tribes from the stone age,
until writing was invented,
and then, many different sources, transliterations, and versions were copied and written down..
''The Bible was created during a time where stories were verbally passed down over hundreds of years.
Stories constantly morphed and changed over time, and the Bible is a collection of these.
This is why it has the nearly identical flood story from Gilgamesh, and why Jesus has the same characteristics as Dionysus, Osiris, Horus, Mithra, and Krishna.
The contradictions and immorality in the stories are not evidence that God is flawed or evil,
but rather that humans invented him, just like the thousands of other gods that we used to, but no longer believe in.''
..and to answer the questions of the many fears and mysteries of our universe, like 'thunder' and earthquakes, since there was no science yet.
That was the old Testament….
The new Testes is also hearsay since these letters, 'gospels' and stories were written by the loyal faithful, the camp followers,
not by objective historians at that particular time,
or by any contemporary writers,
and these tales were written many years after the supposed events of this mythical Jesus.
There is essentially very little evidence of a Jesus in real documented history.
A couple of spurious Roman reports, and all the rest anecdotal.
…but more importantly …a jesus' existence is not an issue!
A jesus is irrelevant without a god !
Then, many of these stories, but not all, as many were not chosen,
[ There are more than just four Gospels but only these four were agreed on ],
were compiled for one self-absorbed converted Roman Emperor in his Nicean Council,
for his expressed purpose of conquest
and
control of the people of Europe for his Holy Roman Empire.
He recognised that this was the perfect religion/mythology for the future domination of the populaces.
Half of the stories were ignored by the Nicean Bishops and none have been proven to be based on fact.
This 'Bable' book is backed up by absolutely no facts and no evidence.
It is not proof for any god(s) ….(or of any jesus as a god…)
The fables are intertwined within historical places and people…
eg Egypt and the Pharaohs existed,
whereas Moses and the Exodus did not happen…!
It is a historical novel
…. ie A book of fiction..
Only!
The Bible book is proof of a book … ONLY (certainly not evidence of any gods…)
PROVE a god!
That is agnosticism. “Is there a God.”:There is only three possible answers. “Yes”, theism. “No” atheism. “Withhold”. Agnosticism. Btw…there is a lot of evidence. You just mean that there is not yet enough for you.
Objective is mind independent. It holds true outside of whether someone believes it or not. The truth is in the object, not in the minds of subjects. That is innate in all.
Did Loki walk on earth? Did eyewitnesses see him and eat with him? Did people eyewitness his death and burial and subsequent empty grave? Was the world transformed for good by his followers? Did the unbelieving world also write about these things? No. Red herring.
You can't "left atheism". Atheism isn't a religion
You were feeling ready to convert a pastor and you've never heard of that argument? Lol
Weak reason to believe
I don't live in a world where things (visibly) pop into existence without cause . . .
Therefore magic incantations, zombies, and talking donkeys and snakes are real!
Wow.
Sorry dude but we see though your lies.
Firstly you don’t leave atheism as atheism has no beliefs attached to it, you simply becomes religious.
Secondly atheism isn’t a religion and if you were an atheist (which I highly doubt) you’d know this already.
So there we go. You’ve been caught in a few lies.
How does that feel?
"Why are you a Christian?" Atheists always say Christians dont have adequate (good) answers. Atheists never accept our answers so they conclude it's inadequate.
I left atheism also and the main reason was I realized atheism was intellectually lazy and had no proof and evidence. Atheism was based on zero evidence yet the preponderance of the evidence was on the side of Christianity. Atheism=madness
Anyone who describes atheism as a religion was never really an atheist.
💥 What a powerful testimony! Would love to hear the rest of it. ❓Will there be a Part 2?
I appreciate your testimony. You believe in the Big Bang today? God isn't powerful enough to speak things into existence in 6 24 hour days, he is only God enough to be a big banger? I see why there are so many denominations.
Awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing. It shows why it is vital for a Christian to be equipped and ready to give an answer for the reason they believe at all times, in season and out of season. I had to smile how Jon went to meet the pastor of the church his then-girlfriend wanted to join, thinking he was going to get the pastor to renounce his faith in Christ. Yet that was a divine appointment God set in motion before the foundation of the whole creation so that today we can hear of another instance where God's immutable and transcending love reaches out to save a lost sheep from the wolf, and give the LORD of all Creation the praise He alone is worthy of.
Nail on the head, Christians don't have good answers in many circumstances, which is why we need Apologetics to be part of any Christian education. I'll add this to one of our channels playlist I am building. Great testimony!
